How and Why's of navigation of this site

How and Why's

From our own research experience we have chosen to make our site frames free*. We want our pages to be quick loading regardless of the type of browser software and modem speed our visitors have. We also want the destination sites referenced on our pages to be easily navigated. Sites opened within frames are often difficult to search.

All linked pages within the site will open in the same browser window, but all linked pages to other sites will open in a new window. This is for the ease of browsing other sites and coming back to this site by just closing the new window.

Table of Contents

Header graphic on any page directly connects to "Table of Contents at a Glance"
And "Table of Contents at a Glance"- lists all sections from the six sectors (sections)

Header
On most pages drop down menu from Header "Where you want to go?" or "Choose where you want to go" connects directly to the indexes of categories (chapters) within each sector.

Sectors (6 sections or areas) are identified by graphic for that sector. Click for explanation.

All Sectors are further devided into categories (chapters) identified by graphic of that section, eg. FibreArts Categories has 13 sections, Basketry, Beadwork, etc.

From pages of the above listed 3 categories (chapters), clicking on the Sector graphic (shown above) connects to the index for that sector, and category (chapter) graphic will connect to the Index of that category.

From each page access to Site Map is available from the Header dropdown menu "Where you want to go?" . This site map is a tool for those who frequent our site and want to go directly to an area (sector) of the site of interest. You will find this a very fast way to navigation our site once you understand which sector hold the information you require.

Subject Index
From each page access to Subject Index is available from the Header dropdown menu "Where you want to go?" . This section is just like a book Index, alphabetically arranged.

Geographical Index
From each page access to Geographical Index is available from the Header dropdown menu "Where you want to go?" . Geogaphical Index is limited in scope. Only selected areas are, and will be categorized geographically. These at this time are:

When ever heading is general, but the subject is specific to a fibrearts category, fibrearts category button is stitched on. Icon Key also appears on the page.
